OCS Announcements

  • MASK/FACE COVERING STATEMENT AS OF SEPTEMBER 28, 2021....posted 9-28-2021.
Oneonta City Schools will continue with the mask / face covering requirement through Friday, October 1, 2021.  Beginning on Monday October 4, OCS will transition to masks / face coverings preferred and recommended but not required.  Students will be required to keep a mask with them in the event that a teacher should require a mask for a particular activity, (i.e. small group work with students working closely together for an extended period of time).  Administrators will coordinate with teachers for masks to be available for each classroom.
Masks / face coverings will continue to be required at all times while adults and students are being transported on a school bus.  This remains a requirement of the Department of Transportation, (Federal and State Requirement).
I want to thank you for your support and efforts during the past few weeks regarding the mask / face covering requirements.  We have been able to keep our schools open which has been our hope and goal.  I hope that we can continue to do so.   We have seen our numbers related to sickness decrease significantly during this time.  We will continue to monitor COVID related illness and hope that we can continue to use masks as an option but not a requirement.
