OES Welcome

  • Welcome to Oneonta Elementary School!  We are a K-5 elementary school located in Blount County, Alabama.  You will find dedicated teachers and staff, hard-working students, and amazing parents who support our school community.  

    Our website gives you a glimpse of daily life at OES.  You’ll see that we offer a rich educational experience that combines academic, social, and extracurricular experiences to help each child develop to his or her fullest potential.  You’ll find many ways that parents can get involved, as well as our many avenues of communication. You’ll get the chance to connect with our amazing teachers and you’ll find a school calendar and monthly newsletters to keep you on top of all that is going on at OES.

  • 2020-2021 Kindergarten Registration

    It is time to register for Kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year! Please see the flier below concerning registration information.

    Daycare dates are for currently enrolled daycare students ONLY. Parents of daycare students should have ALL paperwork and documentation turned in to the OES office prior to the date listed so a school employee can assess your child on the posted date. Parents of students not enrolled at one of the local daycares will need to register and bring your child to be assessed at OES on March 16, 17, or 18.

  • COVID Reporting

OCS Announcements


    Beginning Tuesday, May 4, 2021, masks and face coverings will only be required for individuals who ride a school bus.  Masks or face coverings will be optional at all other times and places during the school day.

    As we approach the end of the school year, please check the status of your student’s lunch account to ensure it is paid in full before the end of school.  

    Parents should make arrangements for medication in the school nurse’s office to be picked-up by Wednesday, May 26.  Medication that is not picked-up by someone 18 years or older will be promptly discarded according to state protocol.

    On April 26, 2021, Oneonta City Schools approved a revised 2021-2022 school year calendar with the first day of school for students as Tuesday, August 10, 2021.   • 2021-2022 OUT-OF-DISTRICT FEE

    The out-of-district student fee for the 2021-2022 school year will remain at the current rate of $500 per student with a maximum of $1,875 per family.  This fee is due any time before July 14, 2021.  As always, we welcome payments before the end of the school year, which allows families to focus on summer activities.

    Payment by cash or check is accepted in the Board Office, located at 28370 State Highway 75, across the street from All-American Ford.  Checks can also be mailed to:
